Host: Let's join ice skater Ekaterina Gordeeva for an Inside Story.

EG: I am a figure skater, Ekaterina Gordeeva from Russia. My friends call me Katia. It's easier.

Host: Ekaterina Gordeeva has won 2 Olympic gold medals and 4 World Championships in pairs skating. Today, Katia is starting a new career- acting.

EG: We are shooting this story called Snowden on Ice. This story is about a mother and her daughter coming back to a town where they haven't been for 20 years.

Host: Katia plays a woman who needs to find the strength and courage to confront her fears. The role of her daughter is played by her daughter in real life, Dasha. Like her character, Katia had to find strength when her husband, Sergei Grinkov, died of a heart attack two years ago. Sergei was her skating partner and best friend. Katia's friends and family helped her find the courage to get through this hard time.

EG: Life is not very easy, and there are lots of difficulties you can meet in your life. You have to find strength; you have to believe in something. I have a lot of friends and big support from my parents. And my daughter, Dasha, is always keeping me busy and alive. I am very lucky because it is my best friends who I work with.

KB: I think when you are younger, you take friends for granted. 'Okay, that friend moved away, so I'll get a new friend.' Trust me, when you get older, you don't know a good friend until they're gone. I think we really need each other; we use each other's friendships as strengths.

Host: Katia is teaching her daughter, Dasha, the importance of friends and family. When times are tough, they can pick you up.

KB: Dasha knows now, falling is OK.

EG: Yeah, falling is OK. You have to fall a lot to know how to fall.

Host: Falling down is a part of life. And as long as you don't let fear get the best of you, you can find the strength and courage to pick yourself up again.
