Kurt hosted Kristi Yamaguchi's Salute to Gold special in 2002, a gig
that was supposedly intended to be off-ice, but which brought Kurt
closer and closer to the ice as the night progressed. He started off
in the stands, progressed to standing by the on-ice seats in shoes,
stepped out on the ice in shoes, came out in rollerblades to execute a
quick spin, appeared on the ice in skates with guards on, took a turn
across the ice with one guard on, one off, and eventually came out in
both skates to skate this special tribute program to Kristi while she
stood on the ice watching him. The program was relatively brief, but
heartfelt. The video linked above has all of his hosting bits, but is
cued up to "Moon River."
