10 competitors from all 4 skating disciplines will be paired in five couples. They will each perform two 2-minute long programs, one on Friday, Mar. 19 and one on Sunday, Mar. 21. The show will air live, and viewer voting online will comprise 50% of the vote, while the judges' vote will comprise the other 50%. There will be no formal criteria for the numbers - skaters will not have to skate together as a pair; they can do alternating solos in the same number, if they so choose. The competition will be staged live in the Premier Ballroom of the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino, and aired on ABC. Voting will be open to viewers in Canada and the US via abc.com. Prize money for the event totals $220,000. Tickets for dress rehearsals as well as the two performance shows will be available for sale.
Joannie Rochette will be doing a special performance dedicated to her mother during the first show.
Doors will open 30 minutes before the show, and there will be a 25-minute pre-show featuring Steven Cousins, Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje, Melissa Gregory & Denis Petukhov, and THE ICE ACROBATS.
